70th Ulster Drama Festival - Radium Girls

Radium Girls by D W Gregory performed by Clontarf Players.

In 1926, radium was a miracle cure, Madame Curie was famous worldwide, and glowing watches were the latest trend—until the girls who painted them fell prey to a sinister ailment. Radium Girls, inspired by a true story, follows Grace Fryer, a dial painter, as she battles for her day in court.

Her former boss, Arthur Roeder, an idealistic man struggles to accept the link between the miracle element and the alarming illnesses. The fight escalates, as Grace contends not only with the U.S. Radium Corporation but with her own family and friends who fear the repercussions of her quest for justice.
